What is GVT Tiles?

Simply defined, GVT stands for Glazed Vitrified Tiles. As the name implies, GVT tiles have a glazed surface, which enable them to provide a wide variety of design, artwork, and surface texture like wood grain, bamboo, or stone.

What is PGVT Tiles?

PGVT stands for Polished Glazed Vitrified Tiles. As the name suggests, PGVT tiles have a high reflective index and a glossy surface, which allows them to shine bright.

Differences between GVT Tiles & PGVT Tiles

• The significant difference between glazed vitrified tiles and polished glazed vitrified tiles is that PGVT has a glossy surface while GVT has not. The GVT tiles are available in four different finishes, namely satin finish, rustic finish, matt finish, and sugar finish. On the other hand, PGVT tiles are available in glossy finish only.

• If we talk about the areas or structures where these tiles are suitable– Satin GVT tiles are ideal for homes, offices, and other indoor spaces. These tiles have an anti-skid surface and are scratch-resistant, whereas Matt GVT tiles, which have an anti-skid surface, are preferred for the commercial area with high footfalls and bathroom flooring.

• The third category of GVT tiles– sugar finish tiles are often used for bathroom walls. This tile looks elegant and adds luxuriousness to the area. However, these tiles are not suitable for flooring because of their rough surface.

• If you want a tile with a rougher surface than the matt tiles, you can opt for rustic GVT tiles. Rustic tiles are often preferred for the area and industry where the surface remains wet most of the time, such as swimming pools.

• Unlike GVT tiles, PGVT tiles are not recommended for commercial purposes because they have a glossy and slippery surface that is not suitable for walking.
